Fischer Homes Expands to Indianapolis

Homebuilder Sees Opportunities for Consumers in Indy Market

Indianapolis, IN - In contrast to major home building cutbacks, the Cincinnati-based Fischer Group is expanding its homebuilding operation into the Indianapolis housing market.

Fischer has currently built 30 homes in 17 communities in Indianapolis. Fischer has a first-year goal of selling 150 to 200 homes in Indianapolis. It is entering the market with four distinct home lines available immediately, including Grand Estate Custom, Masterpiece, Designer and Maple Street Homes.

"We think Indianapolis is a great market with tremendous potential," said Fischer President Bob Hawksley. "We are providing an excellent product, customized service and unsurpassed value to the Indianapolis community. Ultimately, we feel confident that Fischer can bring some much-needed growth to the Indianapolis market."

In addition to the homes, Fischer will open a new 8,000-square-foot Lifestyle Design Center at the intersection of I-69 and I-465. It will feature thousands of options and finish choices. The showroom guides visitors through the diverse options and provides previews of many of the products that will allow customers a home to reflect their individual lifestyle. The Lifestyle Design Center's sections include exterior, interior, kitchen, lighting, plumbing, flooring, tile, countertop and other options, and vignettes of finished and furnished rooms.

On Jan. 21, Fischer is holding a VIP Gala for realtors and community leaders at its new Lifestyle Design Center. Five model homes are currently open to the public in the prestigious areas of Geist, Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville, and Avon.

Fischer has hired industry expert Tim McMahon, previously a regional Executive Vice President of a leading national builder, to head up the Indianapolis division.

"As other builders are struggling in the current economic environment, Fischer Homes is in a financial position to aggressively expand into new markets" said McMahon. "Fischer is set apart from other homebuilders because of our distinct architecture, our ability to customize homes through our Lifestyle Design Center, our focus on finding and building in the best communities, and our commitment to customer satisfaction."

The Fischer Group expanded into the Columbus market in 2008, and the homebuilder improved sales in Greater Cincinnati in 2009, versus 2008. Fischer's efforts will bring approximately 150 new jobs to Indianapolis by the end of 2010.
